Our Mission
Cleaning up the "Crown Jewel"
Spend any time on Lady Bird Lake, and you can tell something stinks. The shores of one of Austin's greatest assets are blanketed in trash. Heavy rains funnel environmental pollutants and land based litter into the lake with alarming efficiency. The Lady Bird Lake Foundation is combating human generated waste through sustainable programs, lake and tributary filtration systems, clean ups, and community education.
Celebrating Austin's past and present
Technology, music, and art - the very industries that built Austin - will also keep it thriving. Through partnerships in tech, Lady Bird Lake Foundation will utilize new solutions to combat old environmental problems. During our chief fundraising festival, Lady Bird Lake Day, we will pay homage to the musical bass line that is the heartbeat of this city and the creative spirit driving it. Our approach is designed to celebrate Austin of the past while looking ahead towards the future
