About

The Lady Bird Lake Foundation arose from a collective outcry over the alarming amount of aquatic trash floating in Lady Bird Lake. With an influx of people moving into the area, an increase in houseless encampments, and lack of education and enforcement regarding litter and toxic chemicals, the problem has reached a tipping point.  The LBLF incorporated as a 501c3 in 2022 with a focus on tackling trash alongside existing governmental organizations and environmental non-profits within the community, combining resources and expertise to clean up Lady Bird Lake and its tributaries.

Mission

To beautify and preserve Lady Bird Lake and its tributaries through technology, education, and community efforts for future generations.

Vision

What starts in Austin, changes the world, and  a small ripple in this relatively small lake can catalyze a movement. A cleaner Lady Bird Lake will drastically decrease the amount of aquatic trash and micro plastics carried to the Gulf of Mexico. A community taking responsibility for its environment might one day heal the planet.
